I enjoy carbonation but would prefer something not so harsh. This absolutely is the trick. The best way I can describe it is having the same mouthfeel as beer. It's more soft and lacks any sort of bite also allowing them to be easily crushable. I go through Liquid Death quite literally like water. Easy five stars for me!
